U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Christian U. Navarro, center, Aircraft Avionics Technician with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 169, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Air Wing instructs students and staff of Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1) on communication capabilities and limitations of the AH-1W Super Cobra at Marine Corps Station Yuma, Ariz., Oct. 1, 2016. The instruction was part of Weapons and Tactics Instructor course (WTI) 1-17, a seven week training event hosted by MAWTS-1 cadre. MAWTS-1 provides standardized advanced tactical training and certification of unit instructor qualifications to support Marine Aviation Training and Readiness and assists in developing and employing aviation weapons and tactics.
