Stan Simpson, a hydrologist and a senior water manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, discusses the current status of the Savannah River Basin and how it affects Lake Hartwell at the annual Lake Hartwell Association meeting Sept. 24.
Participants discussed issues surrounding recreational and municipal use of the lake, its shoreline, surrounding land and water itself.
Simpson explained why the basin is currently in Drought Level 2 and provided a forecast for where the basin is expected to be this winter.
