Soto's lead singer, Stephanie Alvarado serenades Navy Lt. Wilfredo Rodriguez, 46, from New Brunswick, N.J., the chaplain for the base's Surgical Shock Trauma and Personnel Recovery platoons in Camp Taqaddum, Iraq. Despite the hot weather, and the band's lead singer being administered intra-venous fluids to counter dehydration, the soulful ballads, Latin rhythms, and hot dance grooves that made up the high-energy concert held here, made it the coolest place to be on a Friday night. The Los Angeles based band Soto, performed for the troops live here August 12, 2006 as part of the Morale Welfare and Recreation program. "We (service members) must thank MWR for doing this, it was nice to have a diverse crowd enjoying the music," said Rodriguez. (Official USMC photo by: Gunnery Sgt.
