REZEKNE, Latvia – Capt. Tyler Martin, commander of Chosen Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment (Airborne), shakes hands with Janis Garisons, Latvian State Secretary, Ministry of Defense during the closing ceremony for Exercise Zobens Sept. 25. Martin and his company took part in the 30-hour exercise which had the Americans serving as the opposing force for the Latvian Land Forces. The exercise, which was designed to test Latvia’s defense capability, also served to strengthen the partnership and interoperability between NATO allies.
