RUKLA, Lithuania – A Lithuanian Armed Forces Medal for Mutual Support is pinned to the chest of a Soldier from 3rd Combined Arms Battalion, 69th Armored Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division, after it was presented to him Sept. 21 during a ceremony here. The ceremony, which marked the last official engagement of the “Speed and Power” Soldiers during their six-month deployment in Lithuania, was held to give the Americans medals for training with the Lithuanian Armed Forces. 3-69 has spent the last several months training in Lithuania in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, a U.S. led effort being conducted in Eastern Europe to demonstrate U.S. commitment to the collective security of NATO and dedication to enduring peace and stability in the region.
