U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Roberto Portell, with Task Force Koa Moana, buys a churro sold to him by a street vendor in Lima, Peru, Sept. 4, 2016. Marines and sailors with the task force experienced Peruvian culture in order to have a better understanding of the country they are working hand in hand with in bilateral military training. Koa Moana is a U.S. Marine Corps-led exercise designed to enhance military ties with Honduras and several Pacific nations including Peru, Tahiti, Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste and Guam.
