Wahiawa — Katherine Hammack, assistant secretary of the Army Installations, Energy and Environment, learns about the history of the sacred Hawaiian grounds from Tom Lenchanko of the Wahiawa Hawaiian Civic Club during a visit to the Kukaniloko Birth Site, Tuesday. The Army has helped preserve the area by donating funds to buy the land surrounding the site.
