160831-N-WA993-117 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 31, 2016) Sailors salute the U.S. flag after raising it on the flagstaff of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The ship returned to port in Yokosuka after a brief underway to avoid Typhoon Lionrock. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
