Spc. Brandon Waquiu, a native of Albuquerque, N.M., and soldier assigned to 62nd Chemical Company, 23rd Chemical Battalion, Fort Lewis, Wash., now serves as a wildland forest firefighter in the Tripod Complex fire region of North Central Washington.
