Lieutenant Gen. Rex C. McMillian, Commanding General of Marine Forces Reserve, leads Marine Corps poolees, soon to be recruits, as they take the oath of enlistment at Times Square, Aug. 29, 2016. Marines, both active and reserve, celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Marine Forces Reserve alongside Marine veterans, poolees, and members of the New York Police Department and the Fire Department of New York. The oath of enlistment is one of the first steps a civilian takes prior to going to boot camp to become a Marine.
