Coast Guardsmen from the Cutter Sherman from Honolulu unload 1,990 pounds of cocaine from a suspected drug smuggling vessel after a three-hour chase 200-miles south of Guatemala in the Eastern Pacific Ocean July 27, 2016. Three suspected smugglers were also detained by Coast Guardsmen. Operation Martillo is a joint, interagency and multinational collaborative effort to deny transnational criminal organizations air and maritime access to the littoral regions of the Central American isthmus.
