Cpl. Brett Cachero wrestles his Marine Corps Martial Arts instructor belt away from his martial arts instructor trainer during the culminating event Aug. 17 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan. The MAI trainees endured a grueling 15-day course that culminated in a physically and mentally tasking four hour trek along Futenma’s famed Habu trail. During their hike, the Marines stopped at multiple stations to complete buddy drags, grappling and hand to hand combat. Cachero is a finance technician with Headquarters Regiment, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
