160820-N-WA993-004 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Aug. 20, 2016) Electronics Technician 3rd Class Jessica Hancock, from Rutherfordton, North Carolina, and Electronics Technician 1st Class (SW/AW) Jason Smith, from Booneville, Mississippi, emerge after verifying frequency and power in the SPN-41 transmitter aboard the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The SPN-41 is a precision electronic approach and landing aid that provides shipboard guidance information to pilots landing on the flight deck. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
