The top eight Soldiers in the South Dakota Army National Guard finished competing in the state’s Best Warrior Competition in Rapid City, S.D., April 22, 2016, to be named the Soldier or Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year. The Soldiers competed in a variety of events over three days, such as a timed five-mile ruck march, weapons marksmanship, an obstacle course, land navigation, written exams and memory tests.
