Personnel contracted by the Supervisor of Salvage and Diving division of Naval Sea Systems Command prepare to deploy inflatable oil booms aboard the supply vessel M/V John Coghill as part of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill response. Coghill is supporting the response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Deepwater Horizon was an ultra-deepwater oil rig located 130 miles southeast of New Orleans that exploded April 20 and sank April 22, causing a massive oil spill threatening the U.S. Gulf Coast.
