Fort Snelling, Minn., resident, Maj. Mike Steelman, and Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Salas, from Noblesville, Ind., fasten their unit's Yellow Banner to the line during a ceremony at Army Support Activity-Dix's Infantry Park May 10. Their unit, the 203rd Military Intelligence Battalion, Detachment 25, whose motto is "Victory," is an Army Reserve organization out of Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. It will deploy to Iraq where it will conduct a mission assisting Explosive Ordinance Disposal Teams in the recognition and defeat of the number one killer of troops and civilians in the country, Improvised Explosive Devices. The Yellow Banner is given to units who mobilize through ASA-Dix as a symbolic gesture that they are in the thoughts and well-wishes of the ASA-Dix community. The banner is hung in Infantry Park while the unit is deployed and given back to the organization upon its return from combat.
