CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - The Camp Pendleton Environmental Security Wild Life Management Team hosted an event for children from the Abby Reinke Elementary School to learn about the Snowy Plover at the northern edge of Del Mar Beach, August 5. The Snowy Plover is one of 18 endangered species aboard the installation. The kids made signs to place on the fence on the north side of the beach to protect Snowy Plover breeding area. In addition, the children identified Snowy Plover food, made Plover nests and looked out across the beach with binoculars in an attempt to spot the bird.
