Two civil affairs units from the 404th Civil Affairs Battalion, Headquarters and Headquarters Company and B Company, display their Yellow Banners at Army Support Activity-Dix's Griffith Field House, May 3. Representing HHC are Maj. Philip Churchill, from Wilmington, Del., and Sgt. 1st Class Lee Dowiat, from Harrington, Del. Maj. Paul Ferreira, from Howell, N.J., and 1st Sgt. Dennis Hicks, from Tobyanna, Pa., each display the B Company banner. 404th CA Bn. commander, Lt. Col. Teresa Wolfgang, from Roanoke, Va., and 404th CA Bn. command sergeant major, Command Sgt. Maj. Michelle Fornier, from Los Angeles, Calif., are pictured and saw the aforementioned units off at the ceremony. The 404th CA Bn. is an Army Reserve organization headquartered at ASA-Dix that will deploy to Afghanistan to conduct civil affairs missions. The Yellow Banner is given to units who mobilize through ASA-Dix as a symbolic gesture that they are in the thoughts and well-wishes of the ASA-Dix community. The banner is hung in Infantry Park while the unit is deployed and given back to the organization upon its return from combat.
