The Baqubah Landfill ribbon cutting coincided with the worldwide celebration of Earth Day 2010. The U.S. Army 37th Engineers Battalion, the Iraqi Army 5th Field Engineer Regiment, and the Municipalities Directorate planned and coordinated the construction of the Landfill.
