Andy Doan, assistant director of medical operations, Pacific Partnership 2016, assigned to hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), lets a Vietnamese girl try on a virtual reality headset at the Pacific Partnership 2016 Restorative Medicine Summit held in Da Nang. Pacific Partnership held the summit to facilitate discussion and learning among local Vietnamese medical professionals and Pacific Partnership team members. Mercy is joined in Da Nang by JS Shimokita (LST-4002) and Vietnam People's Navy ship Khánh Hóa. Partner nations are working work side-by-side with local organizations to conduct cooperative health engagements, community relation events and subject matter expert exchanges to better prepare for natural disaster or crisis.
