U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Joseph Wickencik, of Buffalo, N.Y., with Company A, 1st Battalion, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, Task Force Lighthorse, receives a Commander's Coin of Excellence for flying over 350 hours in combat and being chosen for difficult missions. In addition, he has taken his personal time to train the front- seaters, which has enhanced the readiness of the unit. He flew countless hours while participating in Operation Mountain Descent II, which was conducted in the most dangerous region in eastern Afghanistan, in support of Task Force Mountain Warrior. Gen. George W. Casey, the Chief of Staff of the Army, presents Wickencik's award, on Forward Operating Base Fenty in eastern Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, April 30. (Photo by: Pfc. Beth Raney)
