Soldiers from the U.S. and Lithuania prepare to raise the flags of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and the United States at a re-naming ceremony in Vilnius, Lithuania, July 22, 2016. Vasingtono Aikste, center of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, was re-named Washington Square after the United States political seat of power, honoring the nations’ alliance. Participating in the ceremony were soldiers from 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment. These soldiers are training with their Baltic allies in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, a U.S. lead effort in Eastern Europe that demonstrates U.S. commitment to the collective security of NATO and dedication to enduring peace and stability in the region.
