160721-N-BB534-433 DA NANG, Vietnam (July 21, 2016) Lt.j.g. Naomi Harless (left), a dietician assigned to USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), Michelle Tom, a registered dietician with Project Hope, Tiffany Loo, a registered nurse with Project Hope, and Lt. Rebekah Kopesky, a registered nurse assigned to Mercy, present training about nutrition's effect on healing to hospital staff at Da Nang Orthopedics and Rehabilitation Hospital. Members of Pacific Partnership 2016 visited the hospital for a subject matter expert exchange where they discussed nutritional management for patients recovering from surgery. Mercy is joined in Da Nang by JS Shimokita (LST-4002) and Vietnam People's Navy ship Khánh Hóa for Pacific Partnership. Partner nations are working work side-by-side with local organizations to conduct cooperative health engagements, community relation events and subject matter expert exchanges to better prepare for natural disaster or crisis.
