SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND, Calif. – Marines provide artillery fire from an M777 Howitzer during a supporting arms coordination center exercise, which is part of the Amphibious Squadron 5 and 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit Integration exercise aboard the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group ships and at San Clemente Island, Calif., July 18, 2016. M777 Howitzer’s are used to provide direct and indirect fire for infantrymen, allowing them to maneuver toward their objective.
