160720-N-BB534-669 DA NANG, Vietnam (July 20, 2016) U.S. Navy Lt. Jeremy Wano, a dentist, prepares to deliver an injection while translator My Huong Le and Jennifer Griffith, a dental student at East Meets West Dental Center look on at a cooperative health engagement (CHE) during Pacific Partnership 2016. At the CHE, participants from hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19), partner nations and local organizations provided basic dental treatment and preventative care. Mercy is joined in Da Nang by JS Shimokita (LST-4002) and Vietnam People's Navy ship Khánh Hóa for Pacific Partnership. Partner nations are working side-by-side with local organizations to conduct cooperative health engagements, community relation events and subject matter expert exchanges to better prepare for natural disaster or crisis.
