U.S. Marines assigned to Fox Co., Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, practice amphibious operations utilizing combat rubber raiding crafts with members of the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force as part of the Japan Observer Exchange Program (JOEP) at the Kin Blue Training Area, Okinawa, Japan, 19 July 2016. As the Marine Corps' force-in-readiness, the 31st MEU trains with the JGSDF in order to further understand amphibious operations to enhance security and stability of the region.
