SOUTH CHINA SEA (July 21, 2016) Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class Joshua Dingman, from Lorraine, N.Y., gives a thumbs up to the davit captain to inform him that the boat crew is ready to be lowered into the water on the starboard side of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Dingman, as the boat’s coxswain, is in charge of the boat and crew. Ronald Reagan, the Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 5 flagship, is on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
