Clendenin Dairy Queen owner Hoyt Newman rubs the plaque that was erected at the water line from a 1997 flood that fill his restaurant roughly 6 feet.
Newman's nephew salvaged the building block from the debris of the June flood that destroyed the building.
The Diary Queen was opened in 1956 by Newman's mother Geraldine Davis. Her chili recipe was still in use.
