Clendenin Dairy Queen owner Hoyt Newman, a Korean War veteran, looked through photos albans salvaged from his business, which was destroyed in the June flooding. As a life long member of Veterans of Foreign War and American Legion, Newman has had many gatherings at his restaurant.
Newman's mother, Geraldine, opened the drive-in Dairy Queen in 1956. Her chili recipe was still being used the day before the June flooding destroyed the building.
