Navy Capt. James Schneider, officer in charge of Field Resuscitative Surgical System 3 at Camp Fallujah, Iraq, speaks with H. Iad Abed after presenting him with more than $500 and several law enforcement agencies' patches Aug. 2 at Camp Fallujah's surgical facility. Abed, a 25-year-old police officer from Fallujah, was wounded in the line of duty June 15. The money and patches were sent by Mike Bullian, a recently retired special agent supervisor for the California Department of Justice, who collected the donations after learning of Abed's situation.
