U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Alejandra S. Soto, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin, native serving as a medical laboratory specialist with A Company, 228th Combat Support Hospital (CSH), performs a urinalysis test to detect potential disorders during a routine examination of specimens at the Brigadier General Crawford F. Sams U.S. Army Health Clinic in Camp Zama, Japan, July 12, 2016. Soto and seven other Army Reserve Soldiers from the 228th CSH arrived in Japan June 24 to commence a three-week mission to enhance Camp Zama’s health, readinesss and resiliency. A biology undergraduate at Texas A&M University in San Antonio, Soto applies her studies to support the technicians permanently assigned to Camp Zama. This mission also exposes Soto to new procedures designed to accommodate a diverse environment that comprises Soldiers, Department of the Army civilians and Japanese specialists sworn to serve service members and their families.
