MARIETTA, Ga. July 15, 2016 – Visitors gathered at the Clay National Guard Center’s Joint Force Headquarters July 15 to observe the change of responsibility ceremony for the State Command Chief Warrant Officer for the Georgia National Guard.
Chief Warrant Officer 5 Thomas Golden relinquished responsibility to Chief Warrant Officer 5 Carl Jackson during a short ceremony officiated by Georgia Army National Guard Commander, Brig. General Thomas M. Carden.
The command chief warrant officer is responsible for the oversight of Ga. ARNG warrant officer recruiting program, recruiter support, retaining quality warrant officers, career education and providing counsel and mentorship on their professional development.
Golden, who has served in the position since 2012, will continue his service with the Ga. ARNG under the 78th Aviation Troop Command.
