A Fort Polk observer controller trainer monitors Massachusetts Army National Guard Soldiers from Co. C, 1st Battalion, 182nd Infantry as they assault an objective at Peason Ridge, La., Friday, July 15, 2016.
The Soldiers participated in a four-day, company combined arms live-fire exercise completed in three phases: training exercise, company exercise and live fire. The exercise challenges the commander to simultaneously complete two separate objectives while maintaining command and control of the battlefield.
The Massachusetts infantrymen joined more than 5,000 Soldiers from other state Army National Guard units, active Army and Army Reserve troops as part of the 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team task force. The Soldiers will hone their skills and practice integrating combat operations ranging from infantry troops engaging in close combat with the enemy to artillery and air strikes, July 9-30, 2016.
