NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (June 11, 2016) -- Cmdr. Alan Feenstra, chief engineering officer, Pre-Commissioning Unit Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), and Cmdr. Todd Carroll wave to people on the pier as the ship prepares to move out of the pier during Ford's turn ship evolution. This is a major milestone that brings the country's newest nuclear powered aircraft carrier another step closer to delivery and commissioning later this year.
