160712-N-BV658-027 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 12, 2016) Aviation Structural Mechanic (Equipment) Airman Yijun Lu, right, assigned to the “Black Eagles” of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 113, secures an E-2C Hawkeye to the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). Carl Vinson is currently underway with embarked Carrier Air Wing 2 and Destroyer Squadron 1 conducting the Tailored Ship's Training Availability (TSTA) and Final Evaluation Problem in preparation for their upcoming deployment. During TSTA, Afloat Training Group Pacific evaluates training drills and real-world scenarios, while placing an emphasis on damage control, flight deck operations and simulated combat.
