Petty Officer 2nd Class Carisa Baker, steelworker, welds rebar to the top of a one of the walls of the Toros Elementary School in Marawi, Philippines, April 15. Baker will make 12 similar welds as nine other Seabees part of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 1 Detachment Philippines build trusses that will support the new roof for one of the three school buildings. These Seabees, assigned to Joint Special Operations Task Force-Philippines, are adding new roofs, glass windows with screens, new internal walls, and doors to the school?s buildings. The mission of the JSOTF-P is to support the comprehensive approach of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to defeating terrorists in the southern Philippines.
