Hawaii Army National Guardsmen from the 487th Field Artillery Regiment unite in a hilltop post with Guam Army National Guardsmen from 1st Battalion, 487th Field Artillery Battalion Detachment II, June 14 at Camp Roberts, California, during the 2016 eXportable Combat Training Capability (XCTC) exercise led by Hawaii’s 29th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT). Guam and Hawaii elements served as forward observers for artillery and mortar weapons during the training. They trained on spotting enemy movement and calling for indirect strikes.
