Bill Byrne, the commander of U.S. Naval Forces Korea, speak at the 66th commemoration of the start of the Korean War. Byrne represented the United Nations Command at the event, held in Busan at the UN National Memorial Park. On June 25, 1950 the unprovoked forces of North Korea invaded the South Korea, beginning the three-year war. The fighting stopped in 1953 when both sides signed an armistice agreement, July 27, 1953.
