Ensign Kelvin Henley, of Smithfield, Virginia, receives his "trophy" for winning the Anchorman Midshipman Award for graduating from U.S. Merchant Marine Academy with the lowest grade-point average during the 2016 graduation ceremony held in Kings Point, New York, June 18. Maj. Gen. Phillip Churn, commanding general of the 200th Military Police Command, U.S. Army Reserve, a native of Washington, D.C., administered the Oath of Commissioned Officers for six Army lieutenants. The 2016 graduating class included 229 senior midshipmen, each earning a Bachelor of Science degree, a direct commission into the armed forces and a U.S. Coast Guard license.
