Army Capt. Kelly Elmlinger, right, rides next to Air Force Veteran Maj. Lee Kuxhaus during the recumbent cycle at the 2016 DoD Warrior Games at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. on June 16. Elmlinger had already won the race and broken the meet record. She continued to ride next to Kuxhaus, encouraging her to keep on racing to the finish line. The Games, running from June 15-21, are a Paralympic-type event for wounded, ill and injured personnel from the military representing all four U.S. Services, Special Operations Command and the United Kingdom.
