The San Juan Islands along with other Puget Sound communities have been identified as a place that will be severely affected by a major Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake. The Washington Army National Guard, through their aviation capabilities, will provide a vital link to these communities by working under the direction of the region's local civil authorities.
