Daniel Zarrilli, Director of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Recovery and Resiliency, speaks at a ceremony on June 13, 2016 to mark the approaching completion of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project to make the beach at Coney Island's southwest corner more resilient. The project included construction of four T-groins and limited beachfill. The area was damaged by Tropical Storm Sandy in October 2012, and the project is part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sandy program.
