160609-N-OU129-116 SUBIC BAY, Philippines (June 9, 2016) Sailors from Patrol Squadron (VP) 5 and USS Stethem, their counterparts from the Philippine Navy, and local schoolchildren compete in a sack-hop race at Santa Rita Elementary School during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Philippines 2016. CARAT is a series of annual maritime exercises between the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps and the armed forces of nine partner nations to include Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Timor-Leste.
