A sergeant competing in the 4th Military Information Support Group Noncommissioned Officer and Soldier of the Year competition slides the bolt and operating rod assembly into the receiver of the M240B machine gun during the weapon assembly mystery event, April 22, 2016. Competitors were evaluated on their ability to properly assembly various weapon systems following a ruck march and stress shoot event. Over the course of two weeks, competitors were evaluated on their physical stamina, writing skills, basic military knowledge, mastery of combatives techniques, execution of tactical tasks, appearance, and military bearing during the annual competition.
