Sailors from Beach Master Unit 2 secure a pallet of wheelchairs to a crane to be hoisted out of Landing Craft Unit 1660 to a nearby flatbed truck at a commercial pier here. The pallet was one of 20 pallets of wheelchairs and seven pallets of computers that were donated by Project Handclasp to the Sao Tome and Principe Union for Promotion. STeP UP works with grassroots organizations to develop and facilitate projects for training and community improvement. BMU 2 is attached to USS Gunston Hall, which is on a scheduled deployment to West Africa in support of Africa Partnership Station West, an international initiative developed by Naval forces Africa that aims to improve maritime safety and security in West and Central Africa.
