The Naval Opthalmic Support and Training Activity, Naval Weapons Station, Va.,team is supporting Tropic Care 2016 by providing their expertise and knowledge in creating prescription eyewear for patients who are in need in Ka'u, Kea'au and Hawaiian Ocean View Estates. Tropic Care 2016 is an innovative readiness training program that provides medical care and support to residents of underserved communities. The team is able to create a single-vision pair of eyeglasses in less than 10 minutes, providing the patients with next day pick-up. NOSTRA works in collaboration with tri-service representatives on the MHS Optical Fabrication Advisory Board to coordinate world-wide deliver of optical fabrication services.
