A bird's eye view of Logistics Support Area Hope, located in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, constructed by Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 7 Air Detachment based in Gulfport, Mississippi, and home to 1,300 Soldiers, Sailors, and Airmen working in support of Operation Unified Response. "The establishment of LSA Hope was a combined effort by the Navy SeaBees and Army Soldiers and improved the quality of life for service members who initially were living in austere conditions when first deployed to Haiti ," said U.S. Army Capt. Charles Denike, 7th Sustainment Brigade engineer, and the designer of LSA Hope. "The LSA provides a central location for service members to conduct daily operations throughout the area of Port au Prince."
