Danielle Bryant, oceanographer and lead glider pilot, Naval Oceanographic Office, uses a laptop computer to communicate with the glider that she is preparing to deploy from the fantail of the USNS Henson in southern Carribean Sea waters near Cartagena, Columbia. Bryant is participating in Oceanographic Southern Partnershp Station 10 which is a demonstration exercise of military oceanographic and hydrographic military survey techniques and procedures. The glider is a measuring device that uses multi-point sonar to chart the ocean.
