Jacques Krabal, mayor of Château-Thierry, France, accepts a gift from the 2nd Marine Division band after they played for the French people on May 27, 2016, near the town hall in Château-Thierry, the location where Quentin Roosevelt, son of former president Teddy Roosevelt, was killed during WWI. Marines from the 2nd MarDiv band and 6th Marine Regiment came to France for a Memorial Day Ceremony and to honor those who fought in the Battle of Belleau Wood during WWI, demonstrating the everlasting bond between the French and the Americans. "We are a free country today, thanks to the Americans," said Krabal after the bands performance. The Memorial Day ceremony will be held at the Aisne-Marne Cemetary in Belleau, France, on Sunday May 29th. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Kirstin Merrimarahajara/released)
