Staff Sgt. Justin Skaggs, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, with the 486th Civil Affairs Battalion, provides security during Exercise Maple Resolve 16 at CFB Wainwright, Alberta, May 27. During the exercise, Army Reserve Civil Affairs Soldiers train alongside their Canadian counterparts as part of the Canadian Army’s annual readiness exercise, working to improve interoperability and foster their alliance. Maple Resolve 2016 offers opportunities for U.S., Canadian and British soldiers to learn from each other, become familiar with each other’s equipment, and communicate with each other during a realistic exercise maneuver exercise.
